In data recovery, host (or transfer, destination, target) drive is a data storage device used to store recovered data and in most cases this media will be encrypted once ready for shipment. Over the years host drives come in many shapes and sizes while to this day the most common is a portable hard disk drive. Size or capacity of a host drive usually depends on total size of all recovered files and ranges from 16 GB to 8 TB (plus).
Data Recovery Process
Data recovery is the process of recovering data from storage media when it cannot be accessed in a ordinary fashion. Hard drives, solid-state drives and mobile devices are among the most common types of storage media requiring data recovery. However, there are many other forms of electronic, optical, and magnetic storage media that can become damaged or corrupted. Data Analyzers provide our customers with cutting edge data recovery services. All of our consumer and business clients are benefiting from the state-of-the-art equipment and progressive customer service provided by our team.
Drop off your data storage device to one of our remote offices or ship it to our main lab: 39 Skyline Dr, Suite 1009, Lake Mary, FL 32746. Mail-in customers should include a blank host drive in the same package as the “patient” media if not purchasing a new hard drive/flash from us. Drop off customers may bring a host drive when dropping off. Once you approve recovery job the engineer will transfer the data to an appropriately sized host drive.
In case when we provide the drive will be encrypted with a password to ensure the privacy of your data.
The last step in our process is to keep a copy of your data safe for the next 16 days from the time your package ships. This allows us to provide another copy of your data should something happen to your data within that period. After 16 days the data is automatically wiped from out systems. Data Analyzers offer variety of host drives from flash thumb drives up to 128GB to large capacity portable and desktop USB hard drives.
